I had to cancel my credit card because they were authorizing my card every few days and tying up my credit. In the mean time I was getting emails 3 weeks after I placed my order that they were out of stock of some items but still were charging my credit card. Customer service is NON EXISTENT. After several messages back & forth because they wont answer phone calls since March due to covid. It is now mid July - youd think they could come up with a plan by now. Today I got a extremely rude call from customer service wanting a new card to charge. After trying to explain to Leslea O about my problem of being charged every few days Leslea O was extremly rude and I cancelled my order and she said No problem. I will NEVER deal with this company again. Total rip-off!
Buyers Beware! We have been collecting MacKenzie Child's Furniture and accessories for over 20 years! We spend approx. 2 - 6 K per year on MacKenzie items. We also have traveled to attend all Barn Sales.
This years Virtual Barn Sale was a disaster. They were not equipped to handle the volume of sales they received. We purchased approximately 6k in items at this sale. Our account was charged for items and continued to be charged for items that had not shipped. This continued for months. You are not able to reach them via phone. Their customer service number no longer accepts calls. They have removed their contact phone number from printed materials as well. Numerous emails went unanswered.
We finally received items in numerous shipments. Incorrect items were received as well. It was not until we stopped payment on charges and disputed a charge, that we were contacted by customer service. I was told a call tag would be issued for Ups to pick up the incorrect items. I was also told and received written confirmation that the correct items had been shipped. It is now 2 weeks later and Ups has yet to pickup or deliver anything from MacKenzie Child's.
I finally did speak with a direct person in customer service. I requested a detailed listing of all items that were charged on our account vs what items had actually shipped. Still have not received the info. I texted a message asking for a return call within a one hour window. They called, but not during the requested time on a work day. I was not able to speak with them due to work.
They had the nerve to leave a message stating my open orders had been cancelled and that the order I disputed will have a negative impact on me being able to place future orders. Are you kidding me?!
So, long story short, they will charge your account at the time of purchase, you may or may not receive your items, if and when you receive a shipment, it may be the incorrect items. You may receive items months after the purchase date, but your money will be been tied up all that time. You can't call anyone directly. Do not expect to receive a quick response or any response at all to an email.
I called their local Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. I was told they are not a participating member of the BBB so they could not help me.
This is not to mention that the quality of their items over the past 4 years have decreased dramatically. Many items are now equivalent to dollar store junk.
This is the first and only negative review that I have ever left for any business. Very sad that the owners of MacKenzie Child's have allowed this to happen and that company has deteriorated to this degree. Such a huge disappointment! Buyers Beware!

The glass table top was backordered so I tried to find another vendor which was able to supply me with a tabletop within a week. I ordered at around 3pm on March 22 and cancelled the order around 3.20 pm on March 22 the same day since I was able to get it from another supplier. I got a response from Mackenzie Childs that it was processed and I had to wait for the glass table top and return it. I read their return policy and I would have to return it at my own expense. I explained that I did not want them to process a BACKORDERED item so it could not possibly be an order that was on its way to me or even processed.
So far no response.
Very disappointed in a company that I had admired from a distance for many years. But I just read all the reviews and I would say buyer beware.
I bought my sister the cast iron cookbook stand for Christmas this year. The item was broken when we received it. I notified MacKenzie Child on Jan. 2nd 2021. Mackenzie child will not replace it with one that is not broken. They have a lost a costumer for sure!
I ordered two items through Mackenzie Child's website November 7th. After two weeks without the notification that they shipped I sent an email asking when they were scheduled to ship. Got a form letter back with no date. A few days later got the shipping notice for one item. Waited another week and asked when the second item would ship and asked if they could expedite it as it was a gift and got a nasty email stating that they would not be expediting any orders. A month after I placed the order I got the email the second item had shipped. They used to make all their items in the factory in Aurora now most of their items are made in China. Expensive for Chinese garbage
I can't get MacKenzie Child customer service to hear me. They only have email, no phone number. I have been trying to contact them for 6 months and they will not respond. Once they have your charge card information they will use it to charge whatever they want.
Beware!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Don't waste your time or money, go to Neimans if you have to have this brand, they have great service. Mackenzie-Child's is a joke
I placed on order on 11-17-20 for $254. And it has never shipped! I have contacted them over 4 times via email and they take over a week to respond and are not taking calls. All I get is we're busy! I will dispute the charges with my bank. The Patience Brewster items can be purchased elsewhere!
Great looking catalogs. A beautiful web presence. E-mails hawking exceptional goods on pretty much a daily basis. However, caveat emptor (buyer beware). As much as you may want to purchase MKC wares, you will likely be made to wait for MONTHS before ever receiving them. Their e-mail based customer service is all that's available to field your questions as to order status and given all that responsibility, their C/S representatives have no authority at all over when it is an order may ship. There's no short-list. Dealing with this company is a test of patience and NOT for the faint of heart. If you want to be made to wonder (and maybe even worry) as to when (and if) that cherished item will appear on your doorstep, then give them a try. I strongly advise against it as I am sure that you've got better things to do with your time (as do I.)
I ordered a $300 pumpkin that came damaged, you could hear the box rattling even before I opened it. I emailed them right away 2 times in the same day and nothing! I finally gave up and disputed the charge with my American Express because the online customer service doesn't get back to you. Then Mackenzie & Childs put another charge through on my credit card for the same amount, UNAUTHORIZED by me and I had to call my American Express again to dispute a second charge! BUYER BEWARE... DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY ONLINE! They are horrible and apparently they think they have the right to charge your card multiple times without authorization!

After many years of being a Mackenzie Child's customer, it appears we need to let them go. My wife has hundreds of their items throughout the house and has loved this company until this year. Presentation, long ago when an item shipped, had as careful thought as the product itself.
Now, wrong items shipped two months late. Their "new" system changed the original order we made, assigned it a new order number, then shipped higher priced items (Bowls) than we ordered. Similar, but larger and really can't use more of this size. Took days and multiple emails pleading with them to respond. Finally, they do respond a week
Later rudely and blaming us for the miscommunication. They will do nothing.
Really? This is not the first problem this year BTW.
This company needs to get themselves together quickly or I'm afraid they will suffer a tremendous loss of customers. Such a shame.
Never will I order from them Mackenzie-Childs again. I placed an order in July and it's now the last of August and they haven't even shipped my merchandise. Customer service is the worst from this company.
I don't think I have ever dealt with a company that had worse customer service. If you are thinking of making a purchase from them, run and don't look back, because it you have any problems whatsoever, even if you have spent hundreds of dollars with them, the only thing they will do is throw you under a bus (that is, if they even respond to your concern). For the price they ask for their products, one would think they would show at least a little graciousness toward the customer. I will NEVER purchase from them again, and I will make sure to tell anyone who will listen to keep far away from them. The only thing one will acquire from them is your time wasted, your money wasted,, and a headache.

I would like to find out, I like their enamelware, not Ugly pottery, but the shipping time and service is terrible.

Horrible customer service. It literally takes weeks to hear back from them. Buyer beware

Their whole line ---- and I have two households with lots of Mac-Ken products inside and out --- is whimsical, happy, quirky... almost unique. It is NOT quality. Never was...
Their products from kitchenware to chairs are for view, not for use.
There is no quality in any of it.
Just recently, I paid to have their kitchen side fish chair (almost $2K) repaired, my cost, by a furniture restorer here. It's a cute piece but is NOT for daily use. We owned it only two months and are empty nesters in a pandemic --- almost no use.
STill, it's not for a large person. We are not large...
Their tuffet arrived with one stool leg broken.
These are pieces, once only American made, now coming from nearly everywhere else.
Still, whimsical if you can get them. But don't order anything that you are not willing to lose the cost. And if it does arrive intact --- a $700 lampshade arrived with its lamp missing --- take care; you may not want to use it.
That's the truth. And, again, I have two houses full of merchandise. But I am buying no more... until IF this ever resolves itself. The word is the company is going to fold.

I would not use MC pots I don't trust their quality for cookware, don't think it's safe for food preparation. I get pieces that don't need to be heated.
